I get the error message:

Error - 200220 occurred at Traditional NI-DAQ Compatibility VI, AI Group Config.vi -> DAQmx Create Channel (AI-Voltage-Basic).vi. Possible reason(s):
Device Identifier Invalid.

Device Specified: 1

Task Name: aiTask1group0

I'm using LabView 7.1 and I'm trying to run a sample design for measuring strain that I downloaded off the NI website "scxi-1520_strain.vi"

I'm a novice user and I apologize if this is a stupid question. I tried some suggestions that I read online but none seemed to work.....

Thanks,
Vishwas

Hello, There is a KnowledgeBase article on our website that deals with this error. It states: "To use the DAQmx Create Virtual Channel.vi, your chassis needs to be verified under NI-DAQmx Devices,
not Traditional NI-DAQ Devices, in MAX. Once you have confirmed that
the chassis is present and configured under NI-DAQmx, the physical channels
input should self-populate with a list of available channels. Check the
filtering of the names if the physical channel string you are using
does not show up."So make sure that your chassis is identified by right-clicking on PXI System under Devices & Interfaces and try again, and let us know whether it works.Have a great day!

Hi,
If I understand your email and the KB Article right then I guess the chassis is configured/idetified appropriately in MAX. Please see the image attached and let me know if I'm missing something.
Thanks,
Vishwas

Yes, it does seem that your PXI chassis is identified and that your modules appear under NI-DAQmx Devices. Which module are you trying to use, and how have you selected it? It would be useful to see a screenshot of the node where the error is occuring, with all its inputs.Try reselecting from the list of Physical Channels that is automatically populated with the devices that appear under DAQmx. Thanks,
